The Lethbridge Bulls are pleased to announce the signing of right-handed pitcher Jake Anderson from Calgary, Alberta. Jake plays collegiately with the Union College Bulldogs, a NAIA school in Barbourville, Kentucky.
Jake is no stranger to the mound at Spitz Stadium. Anderson twirled a complete game shutout in Game 1 of the WCBL Finals last summer, allowing only 3 hits and punching out 8 Edmonton Prospect hitters in a 2-0 Bulls victory. Anderson looks back on the outing as one of the best games of his career.
“That was one of the best outings of my life, for sure. Obviously, it is really good timing for it. That meant a lot to me to get game 1 for the Bulls and we brought it home in game 2.”
Anderson has spent plenty of time in the city of Lethbridge. Prior to his time with the Bulls, Anderson spent 4 years playing with the Prairie Baseball Academy while attending the University of Lethbridge. He says he has grown a soft spot for the windy city.
“I was thrilled to come back when Chance contacted me. I played for four years at PBA and I learned to love the city of Lethbridge. I’m just excited to get back and spend another summer with the Bulls.”
Last summer with the Bulls, Jake posted a 4-2 record with a 3.63 ERA and 37 strikeouts over 39 and two thirds innings. Overall, in his WCBL career dating back to 2019 with the Yorkton Cardinals, Anderson has posted a 6-8 record and a 4.90 ERA over 110.1 innings with 94 strikeouts and 35 base on balls.
Season tickets and flex packs for the 2022 Lethbridge Bulls season are now on sale on the Bulls website. The Bulls open the season on May 26th against the Sylvan Lake Gulls.
