Josh Kabayama Returns for 2022 WCBL Season

01/24/2022 3:02 PM -

The Lethbridge Bulls are pleased to announce the signing of a local outfielder for the 2022 Western Canadian Baseball League season.

Josh Kabayama, an outfielder from Lethbridge, Alberta will return to patrol the outfield at Spitz Stadium for a second consecutive summer. Last season for the Bulls, Josh posted a .311 batting average driving in 13 runs and swiping 9 bags over 26 games.

Kabayama says he is excited to return to the Bulls after having success as a club last summer.

“It’s pretty exciting coming back to a team after having so much success in the first season being a part of it. I’m really excited to be back with the fan base we have here and play with some of the guys from last year.”

Kabayama has played all the way through the ranks of baseball in Lethbridge. Josh played through the Little League program before moving onto play for the Lethbridge Elks. Now entering his second campaign as a Bull, Kabayama says that the proximity to home and fan base made him want to return.

“Obviously, it's nice to be close to home but I also feel like our fan base here is pretty awesome and we had tons of support last year. That means a lot to me as a player.”

Kabayama currently plays collegiately for the Prairie Baseball Academy in Lethbridge. The PBA competes in the Canadian College Baseball Conference (CCBC). Flex Pack Tickets for the 2022 Lethbridge Bulls season are now on sale.
