08/06/2015 11:28 AM -

The Bulls went in to Swift Current on Tuesday night and came away with a first round sweep of the Indians. With the 7-2 victory over Swift Current the Bulls earned the right to face the winner of the Okotoks and Medicine Hat series, which will be decided in game 5 tonight in Okotoks.

Dylan Dyson had a playoff dream night. Dyson was 5-5 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI’s. Both RBI’s coming on solo homeruns in his first two at bats of the evening.  Dyson who missed most of July with a foot injury has started at third base in these playoffs and the Bulls will need him to continue to swing a hot stick if they want to advance to the finals.  Bretton Gouthro has also been on fire so far these playoffs. Bretton was 3-4 with 3 RBI’s on Tuesday night. Gouthro is currently 7-10 with 3 BB and 4 RBI’s through 3 playoff games.

On the mound Tyler Gibson battled his way through 5 innings for the Bulls. The senior out of West Texas looked to have trouble getting loose all night. Gibson managed to hold the Indians to 2 runs over those 5 innings and earn the win for the Bulls. Ben Kennedy pitched two scoreless innings in relief of Gibson. Matthew Beaton and Jake Hansen finished the last two innings for the Bulls without surrendering a hit.

For the series the Bulls hit .298 and scored 20 runs in 3 games. The Bulls had 34 hits, 9 of those hits doubles and 4 homeruns. The offense also chipped in with 7 stolen bases. The Bulls ERA over the 3 games was 1.33 only surrendering 4 earned runs.
