The home stretch is here, and the Bulls control their own fate. The 2017 WMBL regular season has been a roller coaster ride for the Bulls, but with 4 games remaining the boys have a chance to take 2nd place and get home field advantage for the 1st round of the WMBL playoffs. After Wednesday evening's games, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Edmonton all hold identical records of 24-20. Those three teams have clinched playoff births in the Western Division, but who takes 2 through 4th place is still up for grabs.
Tonight (July 27) and tomorrow the Bulls take on the Edmonton Prospects in two pivotal contests. The last time these two teams played, Edmonton took both games of the series up in Edmonton. With two the next two nights in Lethbridge, the Bulls are looking to exact some revenge, and close the season strong. The always important home field advantage in the 1st round of the playoffs is still up for grabs. Okotoks has locked up 1st place, and will take on the 4th seed in the West. The 2nd and 3rd place teams will battle it out starting next Tuesday (Aug 1st) in the opening round of the 2017 WMBL Playoffs.
The Bulls will finish up the season at home against Fort McMurray on Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon in Brooks. It is the most exciting time of the year to come out and see some baseball.
