The 2016 Bulls are off to a perfect start in this new WMBL season. 2-0, and leading in a postponed game against Fort McMurray the short manned Bulls squad has pulled together to continue their winning ways from a season ago. Friday evening at Spitz Stadium the Bulls will get to show their home fans the 2016 version of the Bulls for the first time. The boys will take on the Edmonton Prospects at 7:05pm tonight.
This evening will be a special night for everyone involved in the Bulls organization. For the first time in the history of the Bulls a championship banner will be unveiled. Along with the 2015 WMBL Championship banner, the returning players from last season will be presented a championship ring. It should be plenty of motivation for the 1st year Bulls players to strive to get back to the championship again this season.
After a record setting season in 2015 that saw the Bulls march to a team record 34 wins compared to only 14 losses it will be difficult to repeat that same success this year. The new West Division in the WMBL is loaded with talent. With the additions of Fort McMurray and Brooks there are more teams gunning to knock the Bulls off the perch atop the division. The three Alberta teams from last year (Edmonton, Okotoks and Medicine Hat) will also surely be looking to knock the Bulls down a few notches. It is a challenge that the Bulls relish. With a great balance of veterans and newcomers it is surely going to be an exciting year.
Please feel free to join in on the festivities tonight at Spitz Stadium. Tickets are still available online, or in person at the Spitz Stadium Office. You can also call the office at 403-320-2025. Lets pack the park for the 2016 Bulls home opener!!
