Bulls Receive Award for Outstanding Sports and Recreation

11/06/2015 11:06 AM -

On October 7, 2015 the Southwest Service and Tourism Awards were held at the Yates Theatre in Lethbridge. The Lethbridge Bulls were presented with an award for outstanding sports and recreation. This award is presented to an individual or business in the sports and recreation sector that has enhanced the awareness of Southwest Alberta and their reputation in the tourism industry by being committed to service excellence. The Bulls did that by providing a community based setting with entertainment, involvement, and good customer service.

On Canada Day, Mayor Chris Spearman, presented certificates to all of the new coaches and players for 2015 to continue the Ambassador Program which names members of the Bulls as Ambassadors for the City of Lethbridge. This is an opportunity for our players to become part of our community and a chance for our community to be part of the Bulls.

The Lethbridge Bulls became the WMBL Champions on August 16th, 2015. This was the first time that the Bulls were able to claim the WMBL title. The Lethbridge Bulls roster was full of talented players this past summer. The players excelled in all areas of the game. Not only were the games entertaining to come and watch, but each game also included contests that gave the option for the fans to become a part of the game. This involvement can bring extra excitement for the whole family. The entertainment didn’t stop there as there were also games throughout the year with special themes that were a hit. Many of the Bulls’ fans enjoyed the different themes such as; Ladies Night, Pack the Park, the Annual Canada Day Double Header, and even the first ever Teddies for Tots. There were a few other popular game themes during 2015 and we are developing new ideas for 2016. Citizens can learn a little bit about the community and see different figureheads throw out the first pitch through the Bulls’ Special Recognition program.

“The Bulls are very proud of our community and the role we play in it. We strive to be a great corporate partner in Southern Alberta and know that this is possible only due to the fans and partners we have. Thanks so much to the Southwest Service and Tourism Awards for recognizing our organization,” commented Bulls President & GM, Kevin Kvame.

All in all 2015 was a great summer to be a Bulls’ player, staff member, volunteer, or fan. This award will just top off the already unforgettable 2015 season for the Lethbridge Bulls’ Baseball Club. Make sure to join in on the fun and excitement next summer as the Bulls look to defend their 2015 WMBL Championship.
