The Bulls are one win away from clinching the Alberta Division title and the best record in the WMBL for the 2015 season. Last night the Bulls scratched their way to a 3-2 victory over the Weyburn Beavers, who lead the Saskatchewan Division and are the only team with a chance to catch the Bulls for the best record in the league. The Bulls now sit with a record of 31-11, which matches the highest win total for any Bulls team ever.
Kyle Olliges started the game on the mound for the Bulls, and was very solid over six innings of work. Olliges surrendered 6 hits, gave up 2 runs and struck out 5 Weyburn hitters. Olliges improved his record to 5-3 on the season. Reno Dupuis pitched two scoreless innings in relief, and Chris Stodolka picked up his 6th save of the season striking out 2 batters in the 9th inning. On the offensive side of the ball the Bulls had 8 hits. Cody Stewart, Trace Hansen and Mitch Dornblut all collected two hits on the evening. The Bulls will take on the Beavers again tonight, with a lot on the line. The Playoffs are just over a week away, and the Bulls will look to clinch home field advantage throughout the postseason tonight.
The Bulls will return home July 30th and 31st when they take on division rival Okotoks Dawgs in the last two games of the regular season.
