The Bulls could not get any offense going on a dreary night at Spitz Stadium on Saturday. For that matter, neither team could get anything going for the first 11 innings of baseball. In what could only be called a pitchers duel the Bulls and the Prospects battled for 12 innings before Edmonton finally plated two runs taking the game 2-0.
The Bulls starting pitcher Tyler Gibson was impressive on the mound. Gibson went 7 1/3 allowing 6 hits, 1 walk and striking out 6 Edmonton batters. Chris Stodolka continued his torrid start to the season getting out a jam in the 8th, and pitching a scoreless 9th. Clark Grisbrook takes the loss but he was also excellent going all 3 of the extra innings, before finally surrendering a run in the 12th.
The Bulls struggled to get the bats going all night. They could only muster 5 hits. Taylor Hutchison was 2-5 and shortstop Evan Comeau was 1-3 with a walk. The Bulls wont have much time to worry about the loss. They will be back at Spitz Stadium at 2:05pm Sunday when they try to salvage a split against the Prospects.
