The Lethbridge Bulls are so close they can smell it.
The home stretch is here and the Lethbridge Bulls control their own fate. Sitting third in the WMBL's West Division, the Bulls need only one win or a Fort McMurray Giants loss to clinch a playoff spot.
The final three games of the season will be played against the Edmonton Prospects, the Medicine Hat Mavericks and the Okotoks Dawgs, the three top teams in the West. These games will poise a challenge for the Bulls and it is their time to create some dramatics and head into the playoffs with a clean slate after a whirlwind season.
After beginning the season with a 2-8 record, Lethbridge battled back and fought the rest of the way to get where they are today... within one game of a playoff birth.
The most likely first round matchup for the Bulls will be with the best team in the West Divison, the Medicine Hat Mavericks. The Mavericks have a record of 36-7, an astonoshing feet to say the least, sitting atop of the entire league.
The quest begins tonight (July 27th) as the Bulls take on the Edmonton Prospects at Spitz Stadium with first pitch coming at 7:05pm. Lethbridge will then finish up the season in a first round playoff preview matchup with the Medicine Hat Mavericks at home on July 28th. They will then be on the road against the Okotoks Dawgs to complete their season.
Be sure to come out, enjoy some baseball and cheer on your Lethbridge Bulls as they fight to the end and look to slide themselves into the 2018 WMBL Playoffs.
