Lethbridge Bulls outfielder, Lachlan Mayo was named the WMBL Player of the Week for June 30th - July 6th. Mayo, a native of Syndey, Australia played his College baseball season with the NCAA Division I School, McNeese State University where he starred for the club.
Last week, Mayo put up a tremendous 13 hits, 13 runs scored, three home runs, and seven RBI, pushing his way to his first Player of the Week honour this season. To start the week off, Mayo put up two hits, a home run, two walks and two runs scored in a match-up with the Weyburn Beavers on June 30th and ended his week off with a four-hit performance against the Edmonton Prospects on July 5th.
The power-slugging outfielder has been a reliable hitter for the Bulls all season long as he's put up a .371 batting average, with six home runs and 24 RBI up to this point. Moving forward, the Bulls will look for his bat to be part of what helps them stay in the playoff hunt as they currently sit in 4th place in the WMBL's West Division.
Bulls third baseman, Dylan Borman also had himself a week earning an honourable mention for his efforts putting up 13 hits, three doubles, two home runs, and 10 RBI.
Mayo and the Lethbridge Bulls continue their long six-game Saskatchewan road trip tonight when they take on the Melville Millionaires at 7:05pm. The Bulls currently have a record of 1-3 on the road trip, including a 15-4 beat down on the Regina Red Sox on July 6th.
The Bulls return home on Saturday, July 14th when welcome the Moose Jaw Miller Express to town, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05pm at Spitz Stadium.
