It's been an up and down season for the Lethbridge Bulls, but after such a huge victory, you would imagine a turn-around is imminent.
The Lethbridge Bulls defeated the Okotoks Dawgs by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday night and improved their record to 8-12.
Bulls third baseman, Dylan Borman helped power his club to the victory as he slugged a pair of 3-run home runs, giving himself 6 RBI on the day.
The Bulls trailed the Dawgs 5-4 in the 8th before Kaleb Warden tied things up with an RBI single. Borman then took matters into his own hands, crushing one of his two, three-run homers, giving his club the lead late in the game.
Okotoks fought back with a run in the eighth, but it wasn't enough as reliever, Talon Derrick closed things out, earning his first save of the season in a dominating two inning performance. The side-arm throwing, Derrick has been the Bulls most reliable reliever so far this season, sporting a 2.33 ERA with 3 wins and a save to his credit.
Jaden Griffin had the ball on the mound to start things off going 6 innings and striking out 10, all while allowing 7 hits and only 2 earned runs in his team's victory. Kale Penner worked in the 7th inning and earned the credited win.
The Bulls will be back at home Thursday and Friday as they take on the defending champion, Swift Current 57's in a two-game series.
